Last week Kaisercraft teamed up with Paper Creations in Wisconsin to show the gang at the Central Wisconsin Scrapbook & Stamp Expo
how it’s done. As Paper Creations owner Renell Bartlett tells, it
started with a bang. “They let the first 200 people in the doors at
9:00 a.m. and they were like a stampede going through, LOL (laugh out
loud). They came, they saw, and they conquered! They were in and out
like a tornado.”
Kaisercraft sponsored Paper Creations make
‘n’ take with a beautiful Victorian tag (SB153) designed by Renell
using the Café Culture paper range (P264-267). Renell and her visitors
were thrilled with what they produced, though a little education was
needed for some BTP (Beyond The Page) first timers. “The Make 'N Takes
were a hit, mostly I think because they weren't a card! I had many ask
what they were for exactly, and I said that they were beautiful tags
that they could hang on anything to decorate or put on a gift as a tag
using the journaling blocks as their writing space.”
For such a
creative industry many, like me, are surprised at how talented
scrappers and stampers need so much convincing to trust their own
instincts when it comes to design. In the Mellissa K tradition of
“There are no mistakes, only unique creations” Renell was able to
convince her scrappers to think outside the box, only to have some
girls turning creatively primeval. “It was funny, because so many of
them were worried that I'd get upset if they changed the idea of the
tag at all, and once I convinced them that I was honored if they took
my design and changed it, they went wild with some of them!”
Renell
went on to say, “I had young kids and Grandma's making them and having
a fun time using the different products and just plain enjoying sitting
down and creating something unique with their own hands,” surmising the
reasons so many enjoy this craft.
Kaisercraft would like to
thank Renell for the effort she put into presenting Kaisercraft at the
Expo and creating a special day for everyone who came along. Special
thanks also to John at Notion’s Marketing who personally handled this
order after hours to make sure it happened in time, “my sister went to
Green Bay and got the box of product as it came off the plane, and got
back to the Expo not to long after it started.” Sound familiar, store
owners?
