Tuesday Tip – Sewn flower embellishment
1. Start by cutting varying sizes of circles out of miscellaneous KaiserCraft patterned paper from several different collections (varying sizes of circle punches or a circle cutter works well for this).
2. Sand the edges of all the circles and attached them layered one on top of the other by small dots of glue (too much glue will gum up your sewing machine in the next step).
3. Sew 4 straight lines through the middle of the circles, creating 8 wedges.
4. Cut narrow wedges into the circle between the sewn lines to create separate petals of the flower. Cut slight rounded edge at the top.
5. Crinkled the edges of each petal for greater texture and dimension.

6. Adhere flower to your favorite project or card and you’re done!

Distressed Layouts
Today Renee and I are going to show you distressed layouts. There are so many ways you can achieve a distressed look on your pages. Think paper tearing, crumpling, edge distressors and lots of ink!
I used the beautiful Devonshire collection for my layout, heavily distressing the edges of the paper using an edge distressor and lots of inking and tearing. I’ve also crumpled some patterned paper and randomly stamped images over my background. No need to worry about being neat when you do this!
“Follow Your Heart” by Tanya Tahir – Devonshire papers, embellishment pack, diecut elements, clear stamps, alpha stickers, mini alpha stickers, chipboard alphabet, Sepia ink pad, flowers and leaves.
Renee has used the Gypsy Sisters collection, which also lends itself well to a distressed look. I love the way she has “aged” all her papers by distressing and inking all the edges. And check out the pretty flower. Simply gorgeous!
“All Girl” by Renee Ludlow- Gypsy Sisters papers, die cut elements, black rub ons, 6″ paper pad, Large Uppercase letters, Small Uppercase letters, Brown ink pad, Black ink pad, paper flowers (burgundy), pearls (black).
