Materials Used: Kaisercraft On The Move Propel, Cylinders, Full Tank
Other: wooden clothespins, scallop oval punch
Pearl Says:
“The On The Move collection is perfect to make a bright, retro-feel, year-long desk calendar. I made this desk calendar as a gift pack inside a handmade envelope as a perfect “Happy New Year” gift for a co-worker. To make it, I cut Roladex-size cards, rounded the corners, and glued on printed calendar quarters to make the desk calendar stack. I then cut an envelope based on the dimensions of the cards and created a seal with a scallop oval punched shape and various size pennants. The gift packet includes two mini wooden clothespins, when clipped to both sides, helps the desk calendar stand. It’s a simple yet effective and functional gift perfect for my coworker’s desk.”

Cassandra Says:
“Bird houses and bird nests are all the rage at the moment in both altered arts and scrapbooking layouts. And with the whimsical nature of the Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings collection, I just had to decorate the gorgeous Kaisercraft Bird House that came out a few collections ago.
I have simply cut strips of paper from the Sweet Nothings collection, and used a border punch along one edge of the strips to create patterned tiling for the roof of my bird house. I have embellished the bird house by using the beautiful Collectables die cuts also from the Sweet Nothings collection. This is so cute it would make a wonderful and easy christmas present

“Sweet Nothings” Tape Storage Shelf by Pearl Lui

Materials Used: Kaisercraft Sweet Nothings You & Me, Acrylic Paint in Gold, Mini Drawers
Other: Mod Podge
Pearl says:
“I love the mini drawers because it’s up to you with how you want to use it and personalize it. Perhaps you have need for all the small compartments to hold beads or small findings. For me, the foundation shelf for the mini drawers was perfect to store my rolls of tape. It works really well standing vertically or laying it horizontally. I first painted the entire piece with gold acrylic paint. I then carefully adhered all of the paper to the shelf using Mod Podge. I then clipped a medium sized binder clip to hold my mini scissors which are perfect to snip tape. Now I have the perfect mini tape storage shelf.”

Creative Card: 3D Flower Making

Welcome to the blog this Thursday for our weekly Creative Card post. Today we have Jodi Dolbel leading us…enjoy!
Jodi Says:
“When looking for something a little different to decorate my layouts or cards, the internet can be the best place to find helpful information and inspiration. I came across these flower shapes and decided to layer them to make a cute flower.

I made a template, and then just traced the outline onto the back of the paper and cut it out.

To add some dimension, I scored lines where marked in Step one.

I did the same for the next flower shape in Step 3.

Then for the step 4 I cute towards the centre a bit more and twisted all the petals in the same direction.

Ink all the edges and layer the different shapes from largest to smallest. Adhere with foam tape so they stand up a little.

Add a cute Button or brad in the centre, and then make up your card.

Products Used:
Sweet Nothings- You & Me P768, Cupids Arrow P764, Sincerely P770, Rub Ons – Friendship RB918.
Other: Vintage Doiley, Gift Pin, Crochet Button
