Challenges Layouts

Are you up for a challenge?

March 8, 2011

The new Bubblegum hills collection is full of all things pretty and girly, but having only 1 girl, and 4 boys, I have found the need to think outside the square a little. There are only so many layouts I can do of my daughter, before the boys start saying ‘wheres mine?’ . So I have decided to challenge myself  to try to make a masculine layout out of even the most feminine of collections. For this layout I have steered away from the pinks in the collection, for obvious reasons, and have gone with the blues, greens and oranges. I have used ‘kraft’ paper as my background, as I think this gives it a little more of a masculine feel. And you cant go wrong with banners and stars as classic ‘boy’ embellishments.

‘Such a happy soul’ by Karen Shady

materials list:  Bubblegum hills patterned paper collection, blue lemonade (P613), apple spritz (P632), callipso punch (P633), orange pop (P634), paper pad (PP839), Kiasercraft alpha stickers-blue.

other: banner die, star die, border punch, basic grey alpha stickers, buttons, string.

**********

Heres the challenge….. We challenge you  to choose the most ‘girly’ Kaisercraft papers in your stash, and have a go at turning it into a boy layout. Or maybe try your hand at making a girly layout from a predominantly masculine collection.  Once you have completed your layout, leave a comment on this blog post, with a link to your layout. The competition is open until March 31st, and the lucky winner will receive a fabulous Kaisercraft collection of their choice, to the value of $25.00 RRP.  We will also be featuring some of your work on our blog.  So get your thinking caps on girls, and show us what you can do.

Here is my entry to the competition. It is done with the very masculine Kaisercraft papers “Shaken Not Stirred”. I just loved the colours and only have 2 girls so I loved “girling it up” for my baby girl. Hope you like it :)

Hope it was okay to make a digi-layout. Once I saw the “Tag This” freebie in your digital section I had to give it a try. Thanks for the kit by the way…still have lots more elements to play with!
