Creating a funky digi layout title
Ever wanted to create a cute title to match the colours in your layout? Digital creative team member and quick page extraordinaire Carole will today show you how simple it is to create a cute co-ordinating title to complement layouts in any collection.
“Sometimes when I am working on a layout I want to create a title that coordinates with the colors of the kit that I am using,” Carole said.
“ So in this case I chose a brush to use for my title. You can also start a new file and type a title as well.
“I start out by choosing a brush from the brush file in the Jingles collection. Once that is open I click “Save as” then type “Bright title” and click “Save”. By doing this I am making sure that there are no changes made to the original brush file.”

”Then I choose a pattern paper from the paper file in the Jingles collection. I open the pattern paper I want and click on it. Once it’s open I make the window smaller and then drag it to the window with the title on it.”

“Once I’ve dragged the paper to the window with the title, I highlight the paper layer and type “control g”. Now I’m ready to move the pattern paper around so I have the pattern from the paper where I want it on the title.”

“Now it is time to merge the layers together. I right click on the layers palette and click “‘merge visible”. Next, I’m ready to save my new title and use it on my layout.”

“After saving my title I click on the layout, then click on the title and make the window that has the title smaller so I can drag it and place it on my layout. I’m ready to add a drop shadow and adjust the settings.”

And that’s it…a co-ordinated title in all the right colours, ready to be dropped straight into any layout. This is Carole’s end product…we think that’s a title to be proud of and we’re definitely appreciating the rest of the layout too!

Thanks so much for your tip, Carole – we hope to see your layouts featuring co-ordinating titles springing up on our user gallery soon!
