Fantastic flowers!
Today we’re giving you a bunch of tips from the Design Team to make your own unique flower embellishments!
We’re blown away by how creative they are!!
Just look at Nancy’s cute stitched/rubon flowers! Too cute!!
“I love the soft colors and designs of the Lilac Avenue collection and thought they would be perfect for the photos of my best friend and her family. But since there are so many beautiful patterns in the collection, I just could not narrow down which ones I wanted to use. Since I wanted to showcase all the beautiful papers, I cut them into small squares and assembled the page using the squares as a background. I then stitched each square with my sewing machine to give them a “quilted” look and to accentuate each one.”
Tip: “After I stamped the flowers onto the page using a basic stamping technique, I sewed a straight line from the flowers down to the bottom of the page to ground them and create a sort of flower “stem”. I then added rhinestones to the flowers as well as a rhinestone-topped brad for the center to create a bit of dimension and sparkle.”

Next up is Renee, with her aweome tip on making your own ‘die-cut’ flowers…
Tip: Turning diecuts into flowers – To make your own diecut flower draw and cut a stem from one of the coordinating papers. You can make the stem a simple design or create a more intricate one. Take your scalloped diecut element and adhere it on top of the stem using mounting foam. Finally add some rub-ons to the leaves. This is a fast and easy way to make your own embellishment that can be adapted to fit your layouts needs.

Rona has made her own “Fan Fold” flowers! We love them! Teamed with her hand crocheted border – we think this layout rocks!!
Tip: Fan fold flower instructions:
1.Cut a 2 inch strip from the edge of a sheet of 12 inch paper, using a scallop punch add a border to the 12″ strip.
2.Score the scalloped strip between each scallop, fan fold at each crease.
3.Join the strip with some double sided tape.
4.Punch a small circle from some cardstock, to glue the flower to.
5.Add glue to the circle, stick the fan folded ring to the base, pushing down flat to make the flower.
6.Hold in place until dry.
7.Add a brad (I cut the prongs off the brad) to the centre of the flower using a foam dot.

Lilac Avenue seems popular, with Sam creating a layout using Lilac Avenue stamps to create her own flower embellishments!
Tip: “I loved the Lilac Ave stamps. They couldnt have been more perfect for making layered flowers. All you need to add is a brad to the centre and a little bit of bling and they make perfect embellishments for girly pages. And of course the Lilac Ave inks co-ordinate perfectly with the papers, so you really cant go wrong.”

Layout by Sam Hauzer: Lilac Avenue papers, stamps, ink and brads, rhinestone strips, rhinestone flourish, wooden flowers, chipboard alpha.
Next up is a layout featuring our wooden flourish flowers. Have you seen these before? Check em out over at our website!!

Tip: “I absolutely love the wooden flower flourishes, they are one of my all time favourite Kaisercraft products. They look great just as they are, or painted to matched the layout. I just kept them plain for this layout, as adding a Pack Your Bags brad to the centre was enough to make them look good. I like to cluster them together with the paper flowers to add interest and variety to the layout.”
