Monthly Challenge: Inspired by…Kaiser’s graphic design team
Our talented graphic designers are always pointing out blogs, websites, new fabrics, photos and tons of other bits & bobs that are inspiring their latest creations…. So here’s a monthly challenge to get you scrapping outside your comfort zone!!
So here’s how the monthly challenge works!!
We post the inspiration, and you create any craft project you like! A scrapbook layout, card, wall hanging, sewing/knitting project, home decor or beyond-the-page project … the list is endless! There is one condition though! You have to at least use three different Kaisercraft products!
This month it’s a little shorter in time, and you’ll have until 30th November, 11.59pm (ADST) to enter your project into our ‘KC Blog Challenge: Inspired by’ user gallery to go in the draw to win a Q2 Collection Pack of your choice (6 double-sided pp, coordinating brads, coloured rubons, die-cut elements and a pack of rhinestones), worth $25!!
So this month, we hope you’re inspired by our Graphic Designer, Chris!!

Here’s what he had to say about what’s inspiring him right now!
“I often wonder why you would ever really want to have super powers. To me your imagination is the greatest super power you could ever possess. Through imagination you have the power and ability to create, inspire and influence the world around you.
I am inspired and influenced by black and white photography. Recently I have decided to turn my back on the new digital age of photography and focus more on the use of the classic 35mm SLR analogue camera and develop my own series of photos. I have a massive love for architecture both modern and classic as well as street art and graffiti.
I love the limited use of colour and bold striking typography. My favourite artist is Mike Giant, a colour blind artist from California. I’ve begun collecting skateboard decks showcasing prints of his work.
I gather my inspiration by staring in creative awe at the endless list of amazing blogs and design magazines created by these incredibly gifted designers and artists that I one day aspire to be like, as well as constantly surrounding myself with the people that mean the most to me, my friends and my family”.
And here’s his inspiration board!
Our Design Team has also come up with their interpretations to give you a head start!!
Renee made this cute little chocolate box:
“I was inspired by the black and white photos with the touch of red on the board. It also got me thinking about what my super power would be. I couldn’t decide, but I knew that my super power food would be chocolate. So I wrapped a chocolate box in a black, white and red colour scheme using Loire Valley papers”.

And Tanya this funky layout:
“As soon as I looked at the inspiration board and saw the picture of Bob Marley, I knew I wanted to create this layout (my husband Mardi idolises Bob Marley and we hunted high and low for a kid’s Bob shirt when we were in America last year – finally found one in LA of all places – and I have these photos of Jai wearing the shirt in Bali that I wanted to scrap). I have used a mix of colour and black and white photos and used some chipboard stars in various sizes to create a mask before spraying with glimmer mist onto the background cardstock (inspired by the song title “We are all made of stars” which I spotted on the board)”.

Materials used: Kaisercraft Rewind papers, rubons and pearls, Carolee’s Creations letter stickers, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, Bazzill cardstock, thread, brad, chipboard stars, inkpad.
OK, so here’s the Recap…
You create any craft project you like! You have until the 30th November to enter your project into our ‘KC Blog Challenge: Inspired by’ user gallery or post a link to your creation in the comments section below to go in the draw to win a Q2 Collection Pack of your choice (6 double-sided pp, coordinating brads, coloured rubons, die-cut elements and a pack of rhinestones), worth $25!!
………………………………………………….
Last month we had some amazing entries, each taking different inspiration from Mikala’s pin board!
The winning entry goes to……
‘ScrapSan’
“My inspiration came from the photo of the woman in the field, the tattoo, the swirly dresses and the colors orange and blue. The whole inspiration board yelled ‘summer!’ at me!
I used an embroided badge from the Penny Royale-collection, some pink Kaisercraft flowers and I used the big swirl, the flowers and the page with the dots from the Pina Colada-extras in the Q1-magazine”.
How she created the title, “I cut out the dots, glued them on top of eachother to create a new piece of paper and covered my GIRL-chipboardletters with it. After that I added some paperglaze on top of the letters”.

Please email us your contact details, along with your choice of Q2 collection so we can send you your prize to competitions@kaisercraft.com.au
