This week we’re starting a monthly inspiration challenge.
Our talented graphic designers are always pointing out blogs, websites, new fabrics, photos and tons of other bits & bobs that are inspiring their latest creations…. So we’ve decided to come up with a weekly challenge.
We post the inspiration, and you create any craft project you like! A scrapbook layout, card, wall hanging, sewing/knitting project, home decor or beyond-the-page project … the list is endless! There is one condition though! You have to at least use three different Kaisercraft products!
This month it’s a little shorter in time, and you’ll have until 30th September, 11.59pm (AEST) to enter your project into our ‘KC Blog Challenge: Inspired by’ user gallery to go in the draw to win a Q2 Collection Pack of your choice (6 double-sided pp, coordinating brads, coloured rubons, die-cut elements and a pack of rhinestones), worth $25!!
First up….. Be inspired by Jess – one of our newest additions to our Graphic Design Team!!
Absolutely anything and everything can inspire me. Arty magazines, photography, catching random moments with my camera, people; especially my friends, listening to music, walking in the sunshine, cutting and pasting, creative individuals and fashion.
I especially love it most when someone can combine a few of these to create something beautiful. I like to describe myself as a’mixed bag’ designer, because my design style comes from many different places, and the outcomes can turn out to be all sorts of different creations, but that’s just the way I like it!
I was so inspired by Jess’s ‘Inspiration Board’, I whipped up a layout myself…
I loved Jess’s pops of colour, the fashion models, paper doily, rainbow and strips of photos, not to mention the ‘eclectic look’ of the board.
I created this layout with those things in mind using a picture of a rainbow I took, a coffee stained paper doily, layered elements, a dress pattern and bright ribbon.
Materials: Duchess Collection (DS206pp reverse, DS210 Alpha stickers), Loire Valley Collection (pp LV124 reverse, LV126), Pennyroyale Collection (Die cut elements PR151, Epoxy brads PR152); Sassafras pp, paper doily, lace, AC ribbon, typewriter, MM stickers.
Our Design Team has also come up with their interpretations to give you a head start!!
First is Sam Hauzer’s layout, “I was inspired by the different poses of the girls on the noticeboard and the colourful round image at the top.”
Materials: Kaisercraft Pina Colada pp, chipboard alpha, RB821 Type alpha rub ons.
So don’t forget. We post the inspiration, and you create any craft project you like! You have until the 30th September, 11.59pm (AEST) to enter your project into our ‘KC Blog Challenge: Inspired by’ user gallery to go in the draw to win a Q2 Collection Pack of your choice (6 double-sided pp, coordinating brads, coloured rubons, die-cut elements and a pack of rhinestones), worth $25!!
