Sunday Scrap Space – Alicia Barry

Today we’re taking a visit to Design Team member, Alicia Barry’s scrap space!
Please welcome Alicia!

Name: Alicia Barry
Hometown: Brisbane, Australia
Occupation: Teacher… when I am not on maternity leave
I can’t live without….chocolate
My favourite dessert is… Chocolate mud cake
My inspiration is found here….. Blogs, magazines, galleries.
On my playlist… Kylie, Scissor Sisters, it really depends on the day. We listen to alot of 80′s music in our house.
On my desk… Alot of mess. I really try to keep it clean and tidy, but I have limited space, and even less time, so it often piles up, even though I would love to be one of those people with a lovely neat desk.
What I love the most about Kaisercraft is… how everything co-ordinates.
My scrap space:
“When my daughter was born, I gave up my scrap room for her nursery. My space is now a corner of the lounge room. It’s far from ideal, but we are trying to make the most of it. I do have the advantage of being in the main part of the house, so I can watch TV while I scrap, or watch the kids playing, but there have also been some challenges with having everything so easily accessible to 3 young children. Fortunately they seem to be catching on that they are to stay out of Mum’s stuff (most of the time)”.

“My space is still very much a a work in progress. At the moment, I have a large desk, with an underdesk set of drawers which holds my commonly used tools, such as scissors, glue, pens, etc.. Adjacent to my desk is a cabinet where I store stickles, paints, glitter. I also have a set of jars for buttons flowers and small embellishments. I also have drawers for my cricut cartridges and tools, and another for random “stuff”. To my right is set of wire mesh drawers from Ikea. This houses the bulk of my supplies. My cricut sits on top, within easy reach. In the drawers I keep all my Kaiser paints, and collections. I also have ribbons, stamps and embellishments in this drawers”.

“Due to space restraints (and little fingers), my cardstock and patterned papers are kept in a cupboard in another part of the house. The next phase will be to repaint the walls and then I have a set of wall cabinets to go up which will display my completed projects, and provide extra storage. One day, when we have a bigger house, I look forward to having my own room again”.
And check out Alicia’s latest layout she’s created in this space!!
Till next time!
Happy scrapping!
