Stamping Sunday

I just love that Kaiser Craft has soooo many fun and versatile stamps to choose from! 

For the card set below, I used two different stamp sets- one for the sentiment, and one for the flower centers as well as the stamped image on the envelopes. In the second photo, you can see that I added a touch of detail to the stamped flower image with an orange pen to create a bit more dimension. 

“Card Set” by Nancy Burke. Materials used: Devonshire collection papers- Aurora (P478) (front & back), Magnolia (P483) (back); paper pad (PP810); ink pad- sweet potato (IP706), brown (IP702) teal (IP701) ; acrylic stamps- Just Because (CS906), flower (CS912); paper flowers (F601) rhinestones (SB700). Other: sewing machine, thread, flower punch, scallop scissors, orange pen.

Seems like I am always needing cards for birthdays, weddings, graduations and such, and I like to have a good amount of cards in my stash that I can just grab one and go for those last minute parties and events. So I try to sit down every little while and make a big batch to keep me stocked up.

 I try not to make the exact same card twice, so as I am creating, I like to switch things up by changing ribbons, buttons, or patterned papers, as in the set above, but keeping the overall look the same. This is also as good way to create sets that you can give as gifts when you are in a pinch for a last minute present. Just tie a stack of cards with a pretty bow, include matching envelopes stamped with a simple image, and you’re good to go!

I did a little bit different stamping technique for the next card:

“Bird card” by Nancy Burke. Materials used: Peachy Keen collection papers- Super (P494) (front & back), Neat (P491) (back), Nifty (P492) (back); embellishment pack (EM912); pearls (SB713); die cuts (DC314); stamp set (CS739); ink (IP716), (IP702). Other: sewing machine, thread, scallop border punch, watercolour pencils.   

For the above card, I stamped the bird image several times onto various colors of patterned paper with a few different colors of ink. I played around with paper and ink combos til I came up with one I liked best. I then cut the image apart and pieced it back together to create the finished bird image. I also added a bit of shading with watercolour pencils.

Last but not least:

“Little Princess Card” by Nancy Burke. Gypsy Sisters collection papers- Esmeralda (P485) (back); paper pad (PP811); embellishment pack EM911); rhinestones (RS403),(RS404); die cuts (PP811); stamp set (CS905); ink- sandstone (IP710), black (IP707), rose (IP712) (for edge shading). Other: flower center, silk crepe ribbon, glitter, gold leafing pen.

So for this beautiful card fit for a princess, I stamped the crown image and sentiment onto white cardstock with the light sandstone ink. I then cut out the crown and used a fine-tip glue pen to go back over the ink lines of the crown and added a line of dots over the sentiment. I sprinkled both with fine glitter and heat set with a heat gun. I went over the bottom edge of the crown with a gold leafing pen and added rhinestones for the crown’s “jewels”. I finished the card off with a fluffy, layed flower that I added my own center to, and a loopy pink bow.
