Trudi Harrison

Hi, I am Trudi Harrison and I am so excited to part of the Kaisercraft 2010-2011 Design Team.  I live in regional Victoria with my 2 girls aged 3 and 5 and my ever patient and totally supportive, ‘scrap widow’ husband.  Presently I am a SAHM.  I adore all things beautiful and creative and over the time there have been many hobbies which I enjoyed. But without a doubt, Paper Crafting has become the one which I am truly passionate about. My passion has burned brightly for the last six years and I love absolutely everything about this wonderful craft.  My preferred scrapping genre is 12 x 12 layouts, but I also enjoy creating off the page and cards.  I have a particular fondness for patterned paper and chipboard/ wood products and love combining them together.   When I am not ‘domesticated engineering’ and creating, my world is busy with my young children, husband, family and friends.  I also enjoy photography, camping and reading.

How long have you been scrapbooking for and why did you start? From a young age, I have always enjoyed recording family holidays and events in a diary or journal and of course these had to be decorated.  ‘Officially’ though, I been scrapbooking since the birth of my first daughter in 2004 and was introduced to this wonderful hobby by a friend who thought that “I might like it”. I am having a little chuckle now cause ‘liking it’ turned very quickly into ‘love’ or should I say obsession.

Where do you get your inspiration from – Oh isn’t the world an inspiring place! For me,  often inspiration comes from the product or the photos I am working with or the little things that my children say and do

Favourite subject to scrap – My Children

One word to describe yourself? Dependable

How would you describe your scrapping style? My scrapping style ‘evolves’ but most of my creations feature hand cutting, layering, chipboard and dimension. My preferred scrapping genre is 12 x 12 layouts, but I also enjoy creating off the page and cards

Dance as though no one is watching
Love as though you’ve never been hurt
Sing as though no one can hear you
Live as though heaven is on earth.

Any tips for a New Scrapper? Stay true to you, have fun and don’t disregard those ‘non perfect’ photos
