Tuesday Tips – Double the tips, double the fun!
From this week on, we will be starting a double ‘Tuesday Tip’ feature – one for traditional scrappers, and one for digi scrappers!
First up – a traditional tip!

This week Fran has made a cute embellishment for a layout/project/card.
Materials you will need: Kaisercraft Antique White paint, Kaisercraft wood flourish, Kaisercraft rhinestones, bookpage
Steps:
1. Paint your wood flourish with the antique white paint.
2. When dry, glue it to the bookpage and trim around it – and then add your choice of bling where desired!
“These would be great for a wedding theme – using Kaiser pearls instead if bling”.
And now for our Digital Tuesday Tip!
This week we’ve got some answers for you featuring ideas from Creative Team members and explanations of how they created some of their most meaningful layouts so far.
We’re kicking off with Leah, whose double-paged Hideaway layout made us gasp with delight – showcasing some family photos from a recent photoshoot, Leah used stitching brushes and added extra dimension with a small bevel and drop shadow to her title.

How to re-create Leah’s 3d title:
“The 3D title was created using the ever popular Times New Roman font. Instead of typing it all on a single line, I chose to instead keep each of the letters separate, so they could be staggered for a fun affect,” she said.
“I then merged the letters to create a single layer. I then duplicated that title multiple times, moving each layer slightly down and to the right. When I was finished, I clipped a dark blue paper to the top layer for some added texture. The multiple layers behind created a block letter effect.
“Finally, I added a dropshadow to my very bottom layer.”
We’ve also got some other techniques for creating stunning digi layouts!
Chrissy said she instantly thought of this so-cute photo of her daughter, Amy, when she saw Hideaway’s pretty floral theme.

“I used one of the brushes to make a frame, adding a fill layer below to add depth. I did the same thing with a couple of the bird elements – love those! I also erased part of the photo and frame to make it look like the paper is overlapping it,” Chrissy said.
And finally, we just wanted to share with you another Hideaway layout by military wife Brittney, who used some of her strongest personal beliefs as inspiration.

“‘Let Your Voice Be Heard’ is a layout dedicated to my daughter to let her know we have to stand up for our freedoms and not let anyone take them away. I’m not strong in my political views but being prior military and spouse of a soldier I believe in what is right,” Brittney said.
“I went with a blocking pattern to use more patterned papers and not make it feel overwhelming. I added some stitching to help anchor it and weaved my ribbon under and over the pictures and paper to give it more depth.
“By making my pictures black and white I was sure they would match my paper and not pull away from the layout since her shirt didn’t match the kit’s colors.”
Stay tuned next week for our next installment of tips and tricks from our traditional Design Team and Digital Creative Team!
